Vessel of Times 시대계반(時代繼盤)

대구시 신청사는 과거의 기억을 품고 현재의 시민 생활을 담으며 미래의 가능성을 준비하는 ‘시대를 잇는 그릇’으로 계획되었습니다.  도시적 축을 연결하는 Vessel of Linked Axis, 기억을 계승하는 Vessel of Memory, 자연과 조화를 이루는 Vessel of Landscape은 각각의 층위를 넘나들며 하나의 건축적 정체성으로 수렴합니다. 이로써 신청사는 한 시대에 머무르지 않고, 시민의 삶과 함께 변화하며 미래 세대까지 이어지는 연속적 공공의 장을 구현합니다. 

The Daegu Metropolitan City New City Hall is planned as a ‘Vessel Connecting Eras’ that embraces memories of the past, contains the daily lives of present citizens, and prepares for future possibilities. The Vessel of Linked Axis connecting urban axes, the Vessel of Memory inheriting memories, and the Vessel of Landscape harmonizing with nature traverse each layer and converge into a single architectural identity. Consequently, the new city hall does not remain in one era but implements a continuous public space that changes along with citizens' lives and extends to future generations.
